Photo ID is one of the best ways for researchers to understand a dolphin population, its social structure and migration patterns. Help us understand the dolphins of the Mediterranean Sea better by sending us your photos.
We are looking for high resolution photos that clearly show the dorsal fin or fluke (tail) of the dolphin, or any other parts of with distinctive markings.
This is a non-profit research project. Data will be used for research and conservation purposes.
Use the search bar to find a dolphin by name and use tags to find a dolphin by feature (e.g. left dorsal fin, scarring). The tag search works like this: if you select “scarring” and “nicks”, you will get a listing of all dolphins with scarring OR nicks. We understand that this is not terribly useful and are working at improving the tag search function. Thank you for your patience!
